Warning: High mushiness content Summery: Julian is depressed, so Jadzia sets him up on a special blind date. With Just One Touch by:Diana Bloomfield dcb12313@soltec.com (C) 1997 Jadzia Dax was starting to get annoyed with her dinner companion. When she had accepted Julian Bashir's invitation, she had not counted on being ignored for most of the evening. With one look at the doctor's sullen expression, she had no doubt that his mind was on anything but their present conversation. " Okay Julian, what's the problem?" Dax asked finally, pushing her half-eaten plate of Hasperat out from in front of her. Julian stopped picking at his food and looked up at her with confusion. " Hmm? What's that?" " You asked me about the problems we've been having with the plasma conduits and when I start to tell you, you zone out on me," Jadzia replied reproachingly. Julian gave a half-hearted sigh and crumpled his napkin up into his plate. " I'm sorry Jadzia, I guess I haven't been the best company tonight," he replied apologetically. Jadzia's expression softened slightly. " Tell me what's troubling you," she probed. Julian gave consideration to making something up about his research or some other matter, but with the look on Dax's face, he knew he couldn't get away with anything less than the truth. " Well..it's just that since Leeta and Rom has become engaged...and I haven't been seeing anyone lately.." " You've starting to feel lonely right?" Jadzia summated. Julian smiled sheepishly at her. " Well, I would like to start dating again and possibly get involved with someone, but there just isn't anyone on the station I think I would like to see. I won't date any of my nurses or female medical staff, and I've grow to dislike Dabo girls, so there aren't many options left open." A small smile played on Jadzia's face. " What type of person would you like to go out with?" Julian thought about the question for some time before he eventually answered. " I would like to see someone who is intelligent, insightful, someone I can talk to easily about anything, someone who respects me and who I can respect..." Julian's voice trailed off as Jadzia's smile grew broader. " What?" he finally asked when she stayed silent. " What if I told you that I could set you up on a date with some- one that fits that exact description and whom I know would be interested in seeing you?" she asked, leaning over the table conspiringly. The smile that lit Julian's face was brighter than Dax had seen him have in days. " Really? Who is it?" " First, are you interested?" she asked, knowing the answer was obvious. " Yes, of course I am. Now who is it?" he answered. " I'm not telling you. If you want to meet this person, be in holosuite 3 at 19:00," she replied with a mischievous grin. " I'm not meeting anyone anywhere until you tell me who it is," Julian replied curtly. If it was one thing he avoided at all costs, it was blind dates. After a few mishaps in the Academy, he vowed never to go on another blind date as long as he lived. Dax crossed her arms in front of her chest and glared at him. " Julian, do you trust me?" she asked in a chiding tone. Julian sighed. " Of course I do Jadzia, it's just that I despise blind dates. I promised myself I would never go on another one again," he explained. " Well, make an exception in this case," Jadzia said. " If you do, I can guarantee you that you won't be disappointed." Julian thought about it long and hard. He knew that Jadzia would never intentionally steer him wrong, but did he really want to go through all that trouble? It was true he hadn't had a date in a long while, but still..." All right," he said finally. " But why won't you tell me who it is?" " Because if I did, it wouldn't be a surprise and I don't want you getting any preconceived notions about this person," she answered. Julian felt a sense of uneasiness settle in the pit of his stomach. " Is she that bad?" Dax rolled her eyes at him. " I told you this person was exactly what you're looking for. Don't worry about it." " Easy for you to say," he mumbled under his breath. Jadzia flashed him with a impish smile. " So is it set then? Tomorrow night, 19:00, holosuite 3." " Fine," Julian muttered, but he was less than pleased about it. ******** Julian found himself standing in front of his mirror wondering for the umpteenth time that day, how he had managed to get rail roaded into this date. " Why'd I have to go and open my big mouth?" he asked his reflection. He could always back out of the date since it wasn't too late, claim a medical emergency, but he didn't want to hurt Jadzia's feelings. He valued her friendship too much for that. "Oh well, better get it over with," he told himself with a lack of enthusiasm. He gave his appearance a once over. He was pleased with how well the dark gray suit fit him. It hung nicely to his curves, accentuating his lean frame and fitting him snugly in all the right places. He decided that the silk teal-colored shirt he chose to go underneath was a good selection. He squared his shoulders and took in a bracing breath. Deciding it was now or never, he exited his quarters and headed towards the Promenade and the holosuites. Julian's stomach was a knot of nerves as he came to stand in front of holosuite 3's door. He looked at the chronometer - it read 18:59. ' Jules, this isn't the first time you've been on a date. Just relax and have fun.Trust Jadzia.' he told himself. His pep talk didn't help much. Swallowing to moisten his dry throat, and bolstering his courage, he punched in the override command to enter the program that was already running. The holosuite was exceptionally dark and it took Julian's eyes several minutes to get accustomed to the lack of light. He then realized he had walked in on a night scene. The scant light there was to had was given off by the huge, round full-moon that was shining over his head, along with millions of stars twinkling in the skyline. A slight, warm breeze blew across him, and he was reminded of Earth when the smell of fresh summer grass and wildflowers lofted towards his nose. Somewhere in the distance he could hear a symphony of crickets and other night creatures. There was a cobble-stone path that he started to follow. Within minutes, he came upon a white gazebo that had strands of ivy around it. Taking the few steps upwards, Julian entered the gazebo and noticed that there were several candles lit around the ledge that ran the length of the interior. He also noticed a very archaic twentieth-century style cassette recorder in the corner. He looked around, but he still didn't see any one else around him anywhere. " I can't believe it, but I think I've been stood-up," he said to himself and shook his head in disbelief. " No you haven't Doctor," answered a familiar voice from behind him. Slowly Julian turned around towards the voice and his eyes came to rest on a face he knew all too well. " Garak! What are you doing here?" Julian asked in a voice several octaves higher than normal. He cleared his throat." I'm sorry if I interrupted a program you were running, but it was my understanding that I was suppose to meet someone here." In the dim candle-light, Julian could see the faint smile on the tailor's lips. " I'm well aware of your plans Doctor." " Is this some kind of a cruel joke? Jadzia was suppose to set up a date for me," Julian sputtered. " I can assure you Doctor, it's no joke," the Cardassian replied as he came closer to the doctor. As he approached, Julian noticed Garak's outfit. The tailor was wearing a very attractive tunic that was striped in maroon and deep-green slashes. The neck was cut wide to fit the Cardassian's large neck and tapered down to fit over his broad chest and lean waist. The black fabric of his slacks molded against his hips and thighs. He scarcely remember a time the Cardassian looked any more attractive. " But Garak, this doesn't make any sense, I..." Julian started to protest before he got interrupted. " Let me ask you this Doctor," Garak said as he came up to stand only inches away from Julian. " How exactly did you describe your ideal date to Commander Dax?" " Well, someone who was insightful, intelligent, easy to.. talk to...." Julian's voice trailed off - suddenly things were becoming much clearer to him. Seeing the comprehension filling the younger man's eyes, Garak walked over to the very out-dated cassette recorder and pushed a button. The gentle sounds of a slow melody filled the silence surrounding them. " Care to dance?" Garak asked softly, extending his hand to the doctor. " I..ah..don't know about this. You and I are such good friends and.." Julian offered weakly, but didn't stop the Cardassian when he took his hand and pulled him into the circle of his arms. One of the tailor's hands slid around the younger man's waist, pulling him closer to him, while the other hand took one of Julian's arms and placed it around the tailor's neck. Garak then took Julian's free hand and linked it with his own and placed the doctor's palm over his heart. Garak started moving his feet slowly in time to the music and almost unconsciously, the doctor followed. " You're right Doctor, we are indeed good friends. Haven't you ever wondered though, what it would be like to become more?" Garak replied in a low voice, his warm breath tickled Julian's ear. " I know I have," Garak commented when the doctor didn't say anything. " You have?" Julian asked skeptically. "Mmhhmm. I have for quite some time," Garak replied, locking his gaze with the doctor's. " Do you know how difficult it is to sit and have lunch on a regular basis and not let it show how much I care for you? To listen to you talk about you're relationships and try not to let my face show the jealousy I feel?" As Julian swayed and turned to the melody, he had admit that he indeed had never given much thought before tonight. He had never sensed Garak's feeling having been any stronger than that of friendship, so he hadn't given it any consideration when he was discussing relationships with the tailor. " Why didn't you ever tell me how you felt before?" " At first, I tried to deny my feelings - telling myself all I felt for you was friendship. By the time I realized it went deeper than that, you had already begun a relationship with that Dabo girl. I wasn't about to interfere in your love-life since your happiness was what was most important to me," Garak replied quietly. " What finally changed your mind and decide to tell me?" Julian asked in the same hushed voice. Julian closed his eyes and let himself drift to the soft strains of the music - feeling the steady slightly slower beating of the heart under his palm. Garak noticed that the doctor was starting to relax in his embrace - his frame molding it's self against the tailor almost without thought. " I grew weary of watching you go from romance to romance, freely giving your heart to people who weren't worthy of such a gift," Garak\ \ whispered. Julian's hazel eyes searched the azure depths of the tailor's. He saw no false pretense - no deceptivness. All he saw instead, were cornflower eyes filled with such a earnest devotion and yes, ..love .. and it made his breath catch. Everything was finally starting to make sense to him. He felt that he had been blind for so long. Everything he had been searching for, hoping for was right in front of him. No one knew him any better, no one understood him or accepted him as much as his closest, dearest friend. They had been through so much together over the years, causing each other to grow and challenging each other to be better than they were individually - provided a strength when they worked as one. How often had he ignored his own feeling? Julian wondered. Thinking back to the crisis with the neural implant, fretting over him when he had blown up his own shop, tending to him when the Klingons had assaulted him - he realized now where his concerns had truly stemmed from. Somehow it felt so right and natural to be held in Garak's embrace, feeling his breath caressing his skin, becoming taken in and surrounded by the warmth of his body. Could he take the chance on possibly ruining their friendship? Then again, didn't they always say the best relationships started out as friendship? Wouldn't it be worth it if it worked out? When Garak bent his head down to gently take Julian's mouth, he didn't feel any fear or apprehension. The kiss was more tender and gentle than Julian would have expected from the tailor. His lips parted under the gently probing of Garak's tongue, opening to allow the slow exploration of his mouth. Julian's hands came up to cradle the back of the Cardassian's head, his fingers stroking the soft, thick hair. Garak's hands came down to Julian's waist, pulling even closer to him. He enjoyed the slight smell of soap and antiseptic on the doctor's skin as he broke the kiss to begin nuzzling Julian's neck. Julian's hands came down to caress the tailor's broad back as he tasted the tender ridges of the tailor's neck - nibbling with his teeth and grazing with his tongue. Garak let out a soft moan, his hips pressing firmly against the younger man's. " Elim, I want to make love to you," Julian whispered huskily. Garak stopped kissing the tender skin of his throat and looked deeply into Julian's eyes. " I've waited so long to hear those words from you Julian, and I want to make love to you also. The thing is though, I don't take things like this lightly. I'm not going to be satisfied with just a single night with you. Do you understand what I'm asking for? Can you accept that?" Julian knew exactly what the Cardassian was asking for." Yes. I want the same thing." Garak's eyes shimmered in the candle light with unshed tears. His mind recalled all the lonely nights of exile, the unspoken hopes and wishes, the days of him burying his feelings. Now after so many years, his dear Julian was here in his arms, wanting him as much he did the doctor. Julian had so much love and compassion in that tender heart of his, and now he was willing to share it with the tailor. It was impossible to deny him anything. " Computer, run program, Garak Omega Delta 6 and initialize personal privacy lock, verification 9218-Black." Suddenly the gazebo and the night scene dissolved around them to make way for the new program. Suddenly the living area of an old fashion log cabin appeared. The one room structure had a huge picture window that looked out onto a snow- covered field with pine trees lightly dusted with powdery white snow and icicles gleaming from them. Along the other wall, a stone fireplace held a roaring blaze of yellowish orange flames. In the center of the room stood a large brass four-poster bed covered in a multi-color quilt. Julian took Garak's hands in his and made his way across the hardwood floor towards the bed. Garak caught Julian's warm, supple lips with his as his hands came up underneath the doctor's jacket. He slid it off of Julian's shoulders and let it drop to the floor, while Julian's hands ran over his chest and back. With skilled tailor's fingers, Garak pushed the small buttons of Julian's shirt through the holes and Julian shrugged it off. Garak sat down on the side of the bed and pulled Julian towards him. His hands ran the length of Julian's chest, ribs, and stomach. He trailed kisses and gently nibbled and licked over the warm skin. Julian let out a soft groan when Garak caressed his nipples with his moist tongue, as the doctor ran his fingertips across the tailor's neck ridges and nape. Julian then reached down to tug at the hem of the tailor's tunic. Garak raised his arms while Julian removed the cumbersome fabric - taking delight in brushing his finger- tips across the exposed skin. Garak raised his head for a brief kiss before Julian pressed down on him, encouraging him to lay back on the bed. When he did, Julian lowered himself to his knees and unbuckled Garak's pants. Pulling the zipper down and working them down past the Cardassian's hips, he released the tailor's swollen erection. Garak raised his hips when Julian tugged on the pant legs to pull them completely off. Julian was close enough to catch the scent of Garak's arousal, a faint spicy aroma drifted towards him, fueling his desire. The throbbing member was already covered in a thin film of moisture in anticipation. With great deliberance, Julian lightly flicked the tip of his tongue over the tip of head, running it down the length of the base before completely encompassing it in the depths of his mouth. Julian used his tongue and teeth on the inflamed flesh, finding the sounds of Garak's growling moans very erotic. Garak's hips pressed upwards, forcing Julian to relax the muscles in his throat even more to accommodate his girth. Garak began squirming on top of the bedcover, clutching them in his fingers. When he thought he couldn't stand anymore, Julian slipped his mouth off of Garak's organ to gently start bathing his testicles with his talented tongue, alternating between licking and suckling. Garak managed to pull himself into a sitting position. " Julian, if you keep up at this pace, I won't be able to give 'you' any pleasure," he replied in a thick and raspy voice and he gently ran his fingers through Julian's chestnut hair. Holding out a hand, Garak helped the doctor to his feet and reached out to unbutton and unzip his pants. Julian pushed them and his briefs down past his hips and farther until they rested on the floor. He stepped out of them and kicked them to the side before getting pulled down on top of Garak's body. Julian was as achingly hard as Garak was and moaned as Garak started rubbing their bodies together. Garak pulled the moaning mouth down to his, as his hands roamed the golden skin of the doctor's back and buttocks. He then pushed Julian up to a sitting position on his knees and then slid down on the bed until Julian's throbbing erection was right above his lips. Raising his head, he slowly started licking from the base to rosy tip, circling and swirling his tongue around the head. Julian reached for the headboard as Garak's hands cupped his firm rear and pulled him into the tailor's mouth. Julian's head fell back and his eyes shut as tailor completely absorbed himself into the task of pleasuring the doctor. Gentle sucking soon grew firm and Julian felt himself starting to push and pull himself out of the tailor's mouth, working himself into a faster and faster motion that Garak didn't have any trouble keeping up with. More cries escaped Julian's lips when the Cardassian began running his fingernails over the tender flesh of his back and lower to his rear. Inquisitive fingers searched and ran the length of his cleft, parting the cheeks and gently inserting a single fingertip past the muscular entrance to graze his prostrate. " Gods! Elim!" he cried out, throwing his head back as his hot, thick seed came forth to coat the tailor's throat. Slowly Garak released his mouth as Julian's breathing came closer to normal. " Elim, that was... well no words seem to fit at the moment," Julian said when he found his voice and laid himself down next to the tailor. " I'm glad you approved," Garak said with a sly smile as he tenderly reached out to stroke Julian's cheek and pulled him forward for a slow, leisurely kiss. Julian's hands traveled over the Cardassian's chest, down his lean stomach, over his hips until they brushed the very rigid flesh of Garak's sex. " Elim, I want you inside of me," Julian whispered. " Julian, you don't have to do that on my account," Garak replied, figuring that the doctor was concerned about his own release. " Does this feel like I'm doing just for your sake?" Julian asked as he took the tailor's palm and rubbed it firmly against his reawakening erection. " I want to feel you." Garak raised up, turned around, and sat down on the back of his legs. " Computer, replicate a vial of massage oil," he called out. A red vial appeared in his hands. Julian took it and twisted the top of and poured the musky scented liquid into his palm and then rubbing in his hands, he slowly spread it over the tailor's pulsing, fiery organ. Garak couldn't help groaning as Julian massaged the liquid into his skin, taking the time to make sure every inch was well moistened. Garak took the vial and poured some of the fluid into his own hand as Julian turned around. The tailor carefully applied a generous amount to the doctor's cleft - working it in past the puckered opening with adept fingers. Then taking Julian's hips into his hands, he pulled Julian onto him and entered him in one skillful movement. Julian gasped at the initial sensation, but the tailor was still until he was sure Julian was fine. The doctor felt a strange sense of completeness as the Cardassian filled him. As if by becoming one, he discovered a lost part of himself. Garak stayed motionless at first and let Julian set the rhythm, slowly raising himself up on his knees and then lowering himself again. As Julian started feeling more comfortable and confident, he increased the pace. Garak kept a hold of his waist for support and balance as Julian reached out for the headboard. Garak then began to move himself, stretching and filling Julian. Garak had suspected that Julian would be a responsive and joyful lover - he was by no means disappointed. The warm, desirable body was beckoning to him to caress it, touch it..love it, and Garak wasn't wanting to disappoint him. Soon the pace and friction became too intense for Garak to control himself much longer. Reaching around the front of the doctor, the tailor took Julian's rigid organ in his hand and started pumping up and down feverently. Sweat covered their flesh, increasing the friction. Garak felt Julian's muscles become taut as he threw his head back onto the tailor's shoulder and let out a load moan as he came, covering the tailor's hand in his thick seed. The muscular contraction of Julian's body was enough to send the Cardassian over the abyss into his own climax. Calling out Julian's name in a voice so tender that it sounded like a sacred blessing, Garak came inside the doctor's warm depth. Slowly, Julian pulled himself off the tailor, reluctantly breaking the bond of connection, and settled his head against the soft pillows at the head of the bed and pulled Garak down to lie down beside him. Raising himself up on his elbow, Garak looked down into his lover's face. A wave of emotions were storming in the mahogany depths. " Elim, I ...I want you to know that I.." Julian started, but stopped. Garak could see the difficulty the doctor was having with saying the sentiment, so he placed a finger over the doctor's lips. " I love you too Julian," Garak whispered and replaced his finger with his mouth in a deep and sound kiss. Maybe one day soon his dear doctor would be able to say the words he yearned to hear, but in the mean time he was content to see it reflected in Julian's eyes. ******** Out side at Quark's, the Ferengi watched with interest as Jadzia Dax came strolling across the Promenade and into his establishment. " Is there something I can do for you Commander?" Quark asked with a broad smile, as he wiped a glass clean with a cloth. If he was lucky, she was here to lose more money at the Dabo tables. Seeing there were currently not any customers sitting at the bar, Jadzia walked right over and laid five strips of latinum in front of the barkeep. " Yes, there is. Julian and Garak are currently in holosuite 3 and I want to rent it for the rest of the night for them." Quark gave her a curious look, but took the bars. " Of course, but it's a little strange to see someone acting so generous." " I have my reasons," Jadzia said smiling, and laid two more strips in front of the Ferengi. " I also want your assurance that they won't be bothered for the rest of the night." " Sure thing," Quark said quickly, picking up the strips," Anything else you'd like me to do?" " That should about take care of matter. Just make sure you do it," Jadzia replied and turned to walk out the door. " Anything for a valued customer," Quark called after her. He had no idea why the Trill was so interested in the doctor and tailor's business, but as long as he was making a profit, he didn't care. " Such a strange bunch," he said out loud to himself as he wiped down the top of the bar. The End.
